Subtitling: “Children of Armageddon” trailer

Held each October since 2004, the Festival des Libertés – located in Brussels, Belgium – organizes an international awards competition for documentaries, debates, concerts and theatrical events submitted from around the world. Each body of work is required to be subtitled into the two official languages of Belgium: French and Dutch.

Every year preceding the festival, Virtual Words mobilizes a legion of teams for a very intense period of 4-5 weeks to subtitle hundreds of hours of material received in countless languages ranging from Danish to Swahili. While most translators are not experienced in the art of subtitling, our expert teams are masters of their craft blending a unique balance of contextual nuance, scene length and speed, and technical expertise to deliver top-notch products for entry into the competition.

Below is a sample trailer subtitled for the powerful and moving documentary “Children of Armageddon.”
